Tuscany is located in central Italy between the stretches of the Apennines and the Tyrrhenian sea. The region encompasses all the unique qualities of Italy from enchanting renaissance cities and unique landscapes to artistic heritage. The agricultural and farming traditions that date back hundreds of years highlight the Italian culture, which has an extensive relationship with the land and its soil.

The strength of this bond can be seen in the passion Italians famously have for the crops grown in their native soil, be it in for the use of olive oil, grain for pasta, or tobacco. The best pasta you ever had was probably from this region.

The rich farming customs have now extended to the world of hemp and cannabis in order to capitalize on the rise of the CBD wellness industry.

Why Tuscany?

The Tuscan valley is a major agricultural hub, and paired with its warm weather and minimal rainfall, it’s the ideal place for growers to plant their roots and watch their harvest thrive. Its storied history in agribusiness, famous delicacies and being home to over hundreds of thousands of hectares of organic agriculture, makes it the ideal location for entrepreneurial activity.

Additionally, as Italy has a higher standard for quality growth in terms of pesticides and chemicals, many of the more artificial growth stimulants used in North America aren't permitted. These restrictions create an opportunity for companies that grow there to show consumers that they are deeply committed to the quality of their product and cultivation methods.

"The regulations in Tuscany are the most stringent in the EU; this is because Tuscany really is legendary for its quality of product."

— Robert Eadie CEO, Hemp for Health

Paving the way for high-quality cannabis growth under the Tuscan sun

One such company, Hemp for Health Inc. (CSE: HFH | FSE: 9HH), set up their organization in Tuscany and has already been reaping the benefits within their first year of operation. The only Canadian cannabis company that cultivates in Tuscany, Hemp for Health's main projects and revenue come from hemp flower and CBD oil.

By creating a vertically integrated model, the company can focus on its main pillars of production: genetics, cultivation, extraction and partnerships. This localization and the fact that Hemp for Health is present from seed to sale is how the company can use the branding strategy of being "100 per cent made in Tuscany,” the only CBD company in Italy that can boast this.

Taking a full year to get their hemp strands just right for maximum benefit in oil form, the company is open about their early results while experimenting. "We're having great success now, but it didn't come easy,” says CEO, Robert Eadie. "We had many plants that didn't work out because the hemp strains weren't suited for the area, but we leveraged this experience to successfully move forward."

Motivated by their previous experience, the company focused on the best practices in agriculture to manage a crop that has been reintroduced into a booming industry. Judging from the company's progress, they've landed on a winning formula with their Carmagnola strain.

This strain is native to Italy and is recognized by the EU as a low technical cultivator with low THC, which makes it an ideal option for future products, including topicals. Further, the Carmagnola strain has dioecious seeds, high CBD content and low THC content all of which are favourable for CBD oil extraction and medical-grade flowers.

While it might seem an unusual choice for a Canadian company to set up shop in Italy, Eadie is confident about Hemp for Health's decision to cultivate their product there. "The regulations in Tuscany are the most stringent in the EU; this is because Tuscany really is legendary for its quality of product.

In addition to the benefit of location, a critical factor in Hemp for Health's early success is the people involved.

"As an entrepreneur, I can say that the companies that have worked are the ones where the people are committed, driven, and have similar values. We're very fortunate with the partners we have—particularly the farmers,” notes Eadie.

For the farmers that work with Hemp for Health (with whom the company has just signed a long-term contract), creating quality is a personal matter, according to Eadie. As you'd expect with agriculture being a part of the Italian culture, the farmers don't strictly treat it as a job, but as a craft that's embedded in their pride. Despite that, though, there is no room for stubbornness when trying to create something remarkable.

"These farmers have an openness to new ideas. They're more than willing to work with us to achieve the goal of high-quality products."

What can investors expect in the future?

With such storied benefits regarding the people and the location, what about the product itself?

With promising momentum within its first year, Hemp for Health isn't slowing down. By the end of this year, they plan to launch three new CBD oil products: Tuscan Gold, Tuscan Silver, and Tuscan Bronze. These products will range from cannabis light to full-spectrum oils, which will give customers the benefits of the Entourage Effect.

Hemp for Health is continuously thinking outside the box when it comes to their product and strains, which is why they envision themselves as leaders in growing and processing the highest quality hemp.

Most recently, the company has signed cultivation contracts with four different agriculture companies for the 2020 growing season and have plants growing on 60 Ha.

From there? The next step is bringing this innovation of Tuscan cultivation to the rest of the EU. It's only a matter of time before everyone can experience the diļ¬€erence location makes when growing hemp and cannabis.

Hemp for Health is proud to be one of the only Canadian cannabis companies that cultivates in Tuscany and is poised to be Cannabis’s newest powerhouse when it comes to high-quality CBD products.

The end goal of Hemp for Health is to build a wellness company that’s going to deliver high-quality products. It’s for people to take natural products that are made in Tuscany, working hand-in-hand with mother nature.

The company is listed on the CSE under the symbol HFH. It is also listed in Frankfurt under the symbol 9HH. They plan to go to capital markets to raise money and retail investors are more than welcome to inquire through the company’s website.
