Q&A with Entrepreneur & Eaze
What do you think are the biggest misconceptions cannabis industry?
Consumers have been peppered with misinformation and misconceptions for decades when it comes to cannabis. Educational resources can be fragmented and many consumers aren’t aware of the full breadth of products on the market that go well beyond their dad’s joint from the 1970s. Our goal is to help consumers explore the world of cannabis and become their most trusted resource.
How is your business innovating?
As a partner in the cannabis industry, we have both a responsibility and an opportunity to make our community as inclusive and equitable as possible. As the cannabis industry starts to grow up, philanthropy and social justice are becoming essential components. One of our biggest focuses is becoming more involved in philanthropy efforts early on. We are proud to support economic empowerment efforts, organizations advocating for patient access and overall community sustainability initiatives as part of our ever evolving social impact program.
What was the biggest hurdle you had to overcome in your business?
As cannabis goes mainstream, legislation is constantly shifting and evolving, often city-by-city, which causes confusion and hurdles for consumers and businesses alike. Compliance in the new legal age has been a top priority for Eaze and the partners that we work with. New regulations around naming, dosing, labeling, and packaging can be difficult for smaller cannabis brands to follow and as a platform which exists only thanks to our partners, our compliance team has worked diligently with brands and retailers to ensure our customers can still trust our fully compliant platform for safe and professional access.
What is your favorite aspect of working in this industry?
Eaze’s mission has always been to improve people’s lives by helping them understand the benefits of cannabis and by providing them with safe and legal access to legal cannabis products. Hearing stories from our customers about the relief and joy our products have brought to their lives is what most excites our team. Additionally, there’s the added technological challenge of building an agile platform which can aid in building a sustainable, regulated legal cannabis framework.
What inspires you?
Being on the right side of history. One of the biggest issues Americans are facing today is the opioid crisis. Cannabis finds itself right at the center this and other issues. The opioid crisis is a national public health emergency and we believe cannabis is a non-additive, efficient alternative to opioids that can solve the nationwide crisis. Medical professionals are performing the much-needed formal double blind, large-scale studies necessary to push legalization legislation forward and save lives. To help build a legal and compliant industry which can help aid in solving this issue is indeed inspiring.
